Horizontal Electrophoresis System

The redesigned Mini-Sub cell GT cell offers updated features that make electrophoresis even easier. The Mini-Sub cell GT cell can resolve up to 30 samples; its short, narrow format allows 7 and 10 cm runs with speed, simplicity, and economy.
Bio-Rad’s mini cells resolve EcoRI or HindIII digests of lambda DNA in only 1.5 hours at 60 V. Small DNA fragments can be separated in as little as 15 minutes at 150 V.
All mini cells accommodate ReadyAgarose precast gels to save time and allow highly reproducible separations, and include a buffer tank, a safety lid with cables, and a leveling bubble. The redesigned wide Mini-Sub cell GT electrophoresis cell offers updated features that make electrophoresis even easier. The wide Mini-Sub cell GT cell is suited for multiple-sample, rapid-screening applications. This popular system has a wide platform that can separate 30 samples per comb. The wide Mini-Sub cell GT cell is the same width as the Sub-Cell GT cell, so the comb holder, combs, and 15 x 10 cm gel trays are interchangeable with the larger Sub-Cell GT units.

The redesigned Sub-Cell GT electrophoresis cell offers updated features that make electrophoresis even easier. The Sub-Cell GT cell is the most versatile submerged horizontal electrophoresis cell in the Sub-Cell family. Because the Sub-Cell GT cell offers the greatest choice of gel lengths, sample combs, and separation modes, it is ideal for Southern and northern blotting protocols. Up to 30 samples can be resolved over a distance of 25 cm. Using four rows of combs, the cell will run up to 120 analytical samples.

The Sub-Cell® Model 96 cell was developed specifically for multiple-sample/high-throughput analysis. The design of the cell and analytical combs is based on the fixed spacing of multichannel pipets used to transfer samples from microplates. Using the 51-well analytical comb, 48 nucleic acid samples plus three DNA size standards can be run in one row. If two combs are used, all 96 samples from a microplate can be electrophoresed simultaneously in one gel. The shorter gel lengths (10 and 15 cm) and 26-well comb also allow the Sub-Cell Model 96 cell to be used as a routine apparatus for the molecular biology laboratory. The Sub-Cell Model 96 cell contains buffer recirculation ports for applications that require high voltages or extended runs, eliminating sample migration problems caused by temperature or pH buffer gradients.

The Sub-Cell Model 192 cell offers even higher throughput capabilities than the Sub-Cell Model 96 cell and is also compatible with multichannel pipets. The cell accommodates gels up to 25 cm long. Using four or more 51-well analytical combs, more than two 96-well microplates of samples can be run. The longer gels and buffer recirculation ports of the Sub-Cell Model 192 cell make this cell ideal for Southern and northern blotting and separation of cosmid DNA restriction digests. The 25 x 10 cm and 25 x 15 cm trays, comb holder and combs, and electrode assemblies are interchangeable between the Sub-Cell Model 96 and Sub-Cell Model 192 electrophoresis cells.
